Yes, completely. Your journal entries, prayers, and reflections are stored locally on your device. If you create an account, they sync securely to your private cloud storage—only you can access them.
No. The app works fully without an account. However, creating a free account lets you sync your data across multiple devices and ensures your entries are backed up.
Premium unlocks: additional reflection prompts, unlimited bookmarks, full journal history, all reading plans, multiple focus areas, streak recovery, and one family invite included with your subscription.
It depends on where you subscribed. If you subscribed in the iOS app, subscriptions are managed by Apple: go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Pen & Psalm, and tap Cancel. If you subscribed on the web, open Settings → Manage Subscription in the app to reach the customer portal and cancel there. Either way, you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
For App Store purchases, refunds are handled by Apple — visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For web purchases, email us at support@penandpsalm.app and we'll help, subject to our Terms of Service and any statutory rights you have.
Go to Settings → Backup & Export in the app. You can download a backup file or email yourself a copy of all your entries.
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers. You'll need to type "DELETE" to confirm.
We use the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain and widely respected for its beautiful, timeless language.
Yes — once loaded, the app keeps working offline. Your daily verse and journal work without a connection, the complete KJV is built in, and chapters you've read stay available offline. Your data syncs when you're back online.
If you miss a day, the app offers a streak recovery option. You can journal about the missed days to restore your streak (Premium feature).
Every active Premium subscription includes one family invite — that person gets full Premium for as long as your subscription stays active. To cover more people, purchase additional subscriptions from your account and share each one by text or email.
